Precision Laser Engraving on Wood, Leather & Metal
Laser engraving is one of the most sophisticated methods of material refinement, utilizing concentrated light energy to create permanent, high-precision markings on a surface. Whether it is the elegant branding of a premium leather accessory, the rustic appeal of solid wood, or the industrial durability of metal, we bring your visions to life with micrometer precision in the heart of Graz.
In our workshop, we combine advanced CO2 and fiber laser systems to meet the specific requirements of every material. While the CO2 laser is ideal for organic surfaces such as wood and leather, our fiber laser allows for permanent marking on metals that can withstand extreme conditions. We understand the physical properties of various substrates and calibrate our parameters individually to guarantee a flawless finish without unwanted burn marks or material warping.

The Process: From Concept to Finished Product
Who is our Laser Engraving for?
Our services are designed for a diverse range of clients in Graz and the surrounding region. For small businesses and startups, we offer the ability to create high-quality brand identities on physical products, such as engraved leather labels for fashion items or wooden packaging for artisanal goods.
Event organizers utilize our expertise to create exclusive awards, name tags, or decorative elements that leave a lasting impression. We also work closely with designers and craftspeople who wish to complete their designs with precise engravings on metal or wood without having to invest in expensive machinery themselves.
For private individuals, laser engraving is the ideal solution for personalized gifts. Whether it is an engraved leather belt, a wooden cutting board with a family name, or a metal jewelry piece, we transform everyday objects into unique keepsakes.
Technical Details of Material Processing
The choice of laser system is critical to the final result. For wood, we use the CO2 laser, which controlledly carbonizes the organic fibers, resulting in the characteristic dark contrast. With leather, extreme care is required as heat development can alter the material's structure. We operate with optimized speeds to achieve precise branding without leaving a burnt smell in the final product.
For metals, our fiber laser is employed. Unlike the CO2 laser, the fiber laser interacts directly with the metal surface. Depending on the settings, we can create a simple surface marking (annealing) or a deeper engraving that is completely abrasion-resistant. This is particularly important for technical components or high-end accessories subject to heavy mechanical stress.
What to Prepare for Your Order
To ensure a smooth workflow and the highest quality, we ask our clients to prepare the following:
- Vector Data: Ideally, provide files in .SVG, .DXF, or .AI format. These formats allow the laser to draw exact lines, avoiding the "staircase" effect often found in pixel graphics (JPG, PNG).
- Material Specification: If you provide the material, please specify the exact type (e.g., oak wood, cowhide leather, anodized aluminum). This helps us select the correct laser parameters.
- Placement Sketch: A simple drawing or photo showing exactly where the engraving should be placed on the object prevents positioning errors.
- Quantity: Please provide the exact number of pieces, as this affects the setup time calculation and the total production duration.
Detailed information on file preparation can be found in our guide File Preparation for Laser.
What You Receive Upon Completion
After the work is completed, we hand over your product in a professionally finished state. This includes:
- The physical end product with the precisely executed engraving.
- Thorough cleaning of the engraved surfaces to remove soot or dust particles.
- If the layout was created by us: The final vector file of your design after full payment.
- A photo of the finished product prior to pickup or shipping for quick quality control.
- Brief care instructions for the engraved material to ensure the longevity of the design.
Delivery Times and Scheduling
The average delivery time for engraving orders in our Graz workshop is 5 to 7 business days. This timeframe includes material testing, final layout corrections, and the actual production time.
Please note that the delivery period begins from the moment all necessary documents (final vector file and material) have been received. For urgent projects, we offer an express option with a surcharge of 30% on the total price, provided our current capacity allows for it. All deadlines are fixed individually upon agreement and confirmation.
Limitations: What We Do Not Process
To ensure the safety of our staff and the quality of our work, there are certain materials and contents we do not process:
- PVC and chlorine-containing plastics: Processing these materials releases highly toxic chlorine gas, which destroys our machinery and is hazardous to health.
- Copyrighted Logos: We do not perform engravings of brand logos or protected trademarks without written permission from the rightsholder.
- Official Documents: Engraving on IDs, certificates, or official license plates is strictly prohibited.
- Unknown Chemical Coatings: Materials with unknown compositions can have unpredictable reactions to heat and will not be processed.
Pricing and Billing
The cost of laser engraving consists of three main components: setup time (measuring the object), the actual engraving time (depending on area and depth), and any layout corrections.
We bill transparently per square centimeter (cm²). Prices include the statutory VAT of 20%. For B2B customers, we issue invoices with a payment term of 14 days. Please note that a minimum order value of 30 € applies to every order. A detailed explanation of price calculation can be found in our guide How Engraving Costs are Calculated.
